Man Shot In The Leg In Bridgeport A man was hospitalized after being shot in the leg in Bridgeport, police said. Police were notified of the shooting around 7:20 p.m. Monday, July 22, said through a 911 call saying that a person had been shot at the Shell station on Lordship Boulevard in Stratford, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police. The man had a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries, Jones said. No other information was immediately available.

Beloved Local Pastor Struck, Killed By Car In Stratford A well-known local pastor was hit and killed by a car while crossing a street in Stratford. Pastor Levorn Murphy was hit around 11 p.m., Thursday, May 24, on Lordship Boulevard as he crossing the street to get a snack at a Shell station, reported News 12. Murphy was transported to the hospital, where he later died.  No charges have yet been filed against the driver, who stayed at the scene.  Murphy worked with Time for a Change ministry in Bridgeport, helping men struggling with drug addiction, said News 12. Inzer, 46, robbed the attendant at the Shell station at 268 Heller Parkway and ran from the scene towards Franklin Avenue, according to police.  He was charged yesterday at the Essex County Correctional Facility.
