Surfer Dies After Water Rescue At Gilgo Beach: Suffolk Police A surfer was pulled unresponsive from the water at Gilgo Beach and later pronounced dead at a hospital, Suffolk County police announced on Sunday, Jan. 19. Marine Bureau officers responded to the Babylon beach at approximately 2:20 p.m. after a good Samaritan spotted and pulled an unresponsive man from the water, police said. 'Jerseylicious' Star Lorenzo Gangala Dies Months After Surviving Motorcycle Crash Lorenzo Rocco Gangala, a Montclair resident who appeared on the former reality show "Jerseylicious" died on Thursday, Jan. 16 at Mountainside Medical Center surrounded by family, according to his obituary on the Par-Troy Funeral Home website. TikTok Access Restored In United States Americans regained access to TikTok after a 14-hour ban left the popular app unavailable. As of Sunday, Jan. 19, it remained unclear why the app was once again operational in the United States. The Supreme Court had previously upheld a ruling to enforce the ban, citing national security concerns linked to TikTok’s Chinese-owned parent company, ByteDance.
